Crazy MOROCCO!!!

Okay i have so much to share about Morocco...we are still here and i love it!! ha ha it started out a little crazy but just keeps getting better and better!!
this is how our trip began...
We left spain at 12 at night took a 6 hour bus then walked to a train at 7 in the morning took the train till 12 pm then hopped on a ferry to Tangier at 2....it was a long day but we FINALLY arrived in Morocco

Austins friend he made on the ferry....(this guy thought at first that Austin was Alexander Hleb the soccer player)

on the ferry and then our first view of Morocco...

once we were off the ferry we just wanted to find a place and sleep....duh duh DUH this was the place we ended up finding....oh my gosh yuk!!! I was so upset about the bathroom i did NOT shower even though i felt extremely dirty!

So the next morning we headed off to Rabat...i liked it much better

one of the Crazy markets in Rabat
our second hotel in Morocco....this was better....
here was our room....much cleaner...but had a weird smellOn to Exploring Rabat....

We walked up to the Kasbah de Oudaias...then right behind it are these old houses over looking the water...i loved this place and all its cool blue and white buildings, and winding side streets
after roaming the blue and white town you ended up here over looking the ocean it was so pretty...ha ha and so windy
next we went to explore an old grave yard...it was sooo cool and so so huge!!

the streets at night
Here are some of my favorite pics of Rabat....

there is so much more to tell...but i will save that for the next post

Hi Guys,

Good to talk with you today. Love these pictures! Have fun in the Sahara! Be careful and don't let the camels spit at you. Hope you got my email about Jessica's friends experience with his Sahara trip. Love you both.

Dear Austin and Sara,

I decided to learn a little more about Africa today and although you both probably know these fun facts, I didn't & thought it would be fun to share them with your readers, who like me may not know that much about this amazing country. Here goes ....
Africa is so large that all these countries cound fit into it bounderies and there would still be room to spare: Continental United States, Western Europe, Argentina, China & India. That is about 12 million square miles. There are 53 countries in Africa, and 1,000 known language varieties. The Sahara desert is the largest desert in the world & covers over 1/4 of the Northern portion of the African Continent, some 3.5 million sq. miles.(that's larger than the continental United States.) It rains an average of 3 inches per yr in the Sahara, and in some places it will rain for an hour of two and then not again for years. The Nile is the longest river in the world and runs 4,132 miles. The largest mountain is Mount Kilimanjaro at over 19,317 thousand feet.(That is over 5,000 feet taller than Mr. Rainier here in Washington.) Africa was connected to South America millions of years ago before the tectonic plates moved away from each other. Lake Victoria is the largest lake in Africa and the is the world's second-largest freshwater lake - covering an area (26,830 sq miles.) The coastline of Africa is 18,950 miles long. Africa is home to roughly 12 percent of all humans or 840 million people. Four of the five fastest land animals live in Africa - the cheetah (70 mph), wildebeest, lion, and Thomson's gazelle (all about 50 mph).
Africa faces many challenges as well, but it is an awesome part of our planet! Enjoy your stay(:

Love Mom

Sarah and Austin, we love your blog and love to sit and watch the videos, we get to travel through you and we even signed up for couch surfing!! So I think you guys should do a little meeting when you get back and tell us all how you were able to plan and save and do what you did? Maurice and I will be there!
